Fall at the Arboretum

About a week ago, I took a friend of mine to the local arboretum and I wanted to share how beautiful it looked.  I wish I could take all my blogging friends a walk in this sanctuary.

They decorated the children’s garden with pumpkins, hay bales and cornstalks.

The colors were so beautiful.

I had no idea how beautiful the milkweed plant was when it goes to seed.

The red leaves on the trees were stunning.

We saw the two resident trumpeter swans at the far end of the pond, but they came up to see us.

I learned that trumpeter swans diets consist of almost entirely aquatic plants.  We watched them munch on plants a little while before we went home.
