On true soul mates

People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master…

      You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked them and commented. I lost 2 blog readers after I posted them and felt a slightly bad, as if I did something wrong. It may or may not have been coincidental. I know better to get invested in who comes and who goes; but still, I had become a little self-conscious, thinking that I offended somebody. And then I realized, I share things that are meaningful for me. Not everyone will relate with what I share, but some will.

      Thank you for the appreciation. I really am glad they had a positive effect on you.

      I know Elizabeth Gilbert’s work has been criticized, but still, I think her messages are valid and more importantly, they resonate deeply with me.

      Have you ever seen the movie? I liked it, the spirit of it anyway, even if some of what she wrote was diluted for movie-going audiences. But overall, it’s a beautiful film.

      My favorite part was the interactions she had with Richard from Texas in India. I had a “Richard from Texas” in my life, too.

      Yes, that! I don’t know where I would have ended up had I not been made “so desperate and out of control”. I’m transforming my life now, because my friend shown a bright light in the dark areas of my self, through our correspondence.
