Morning Walk

To my companions in the blogging world, I apologize in advance for the delay in responding to your lovely comments. I’m touched with your thoughtfulness and there is a few things I need to attend to in my real life.

I will reply soon, but until then I wanted to share the walk I went on this morning.

I brought with me Julien Matei’s words:

The less we live, the more we talk.

This pond behind is my oldest daughter’s middle school.  It was a beautifully crisp autumn morning.  Chilly enough to invigorate without making me regret not bringing a hat.

It was about here that I took a spill.  Because I was looking through my camera and walking, I stepped into a hole and twisted my ankle.  The next moment I was on the damp ground with a searing pain in my ankle.  A practical lesson of the hazards of not being mindful, for sure.

There were scores of Canadian geese, ducks and seagulls.

Without any special tricks, my DSLR lens created this delicious sunburst pattern.

When I go out in nature to capture moments in time, I come back just bursting with joy.

And this time, a stiff ankle.

And well worth it.
