Mixed media project – undone

I dislike getting stuck on my art projects, but that’s what I am – stuck.  It’s actually quite a frequent phenomenon in my art-making.  I usually have about three or four projects halfway completed because I just get to a point where I’m stuck and I haven’t figured out how to proceed, or I’m missing that one element or that one quote or that one word that would tie it all together.  And I can’t find the right skeleton key (I have three different kinds, none of which really work well).

So…now, I’m stuck.

But I wanted to show of one of my  works-in-progress:

It’s a combination of metal elements, paper, acrylic paint and stamps in a sort of vaguely steampunk-ish/travel style on wood canvas (also called “cradle board” for some reason…I think).

And I’m stuck.  I can’t even come up with a unifying theme, a title or even a inspiring quote to use.

Dang.

Don’t know what steampunk is?  I’ll tell you what it’s not.

    There’s really not much to it, just being able to glue pieces on in a pleasing fashion. It’s like being a kindergartener all over again. 🙂

    I’m just playing around, having fun.
